The storm front did not stop yesterday in the Weilheim-Schongau district either.
One cell formed and emptied through Pähl, the other through Peiting.
There was a lot to do for the fire brigades.
District - "You could really watch how the
thunderstorm formed over Pähl
," said Martin Blobner, commander of the Pähler fire brigade.
It started at around 3:30 p.m., it didn't move any further.
"It then also discharged here."
Pähl fire brigade in action at 15 locations
The levels of the local waters rose, streets were flooded and cellars overflowed.
"About 80 liters of rain came down in an hour and a half," says Blobner.
For the emergency services, this meant that there was a lot to do.
A total of
15 locations
had to lift the Pähl fire brigade.
It started at around 4 p.m.
Mainly full cellars had to be freed from water.
In the entire district, however, not many communities were affected, as the district fire chief Rüdiger Sobotta said.
“The focus was on Pähl, Peiting and Wielenbach.” But the storm in Wielenbach was limited, as Pähler Commander Blobner reported.
Because the comrades from Wielenbach “were mainly with us as support”.
In addition, there was the fire brigade from Fischen, which also helped the emergency services.
After around
six hours of work
, the 55 emergency services - 25 of them from Pähl - were able to start their way home at around 10 p.m.
Schongau fire brigade has to help out in Peiting
There was also a lot to do
for the
Peitingen fire brigade
.
She was called to various locations.
In the end, the
Schongau fire brigade
was even
alerted to help out in Peiting.
Among other things, the volunteers were on the Ammergauer Straße, in Peiting Ramsau, at the Bühlach cemetery and below the Marienheim Bühlach building area.
The Schongau fire brigade was deployed in
Föhrenstrasse
.
In a four-row house there, all four cellars were full.
The water had entered through the light shafts.
Masses of water could not be pumped out - THW will be requested
Another place of work for the fire fighters was Espenweg in Peiting.
Where the canal is being built, the old canals overflowed again due to the heavy rain.
Since the fire brigade could not pump out the water, the
THW was
requested with the large pump.
