After twelve years of struggle, the Pullach municipal council has barely decided to build a new swimming pool at the current location when there are next differences of opinion on the subject.

Pullach

- The CSU wants to bridge the demolition and construction period with a temporary solution, the WiP has joined it.

The two factions believe that the people of Pullach cannot be expected to have to do without swimming in front of their doorstep again soon after the corona-related closure of the ailing pool.

Pullach has two swimming clubs, and the elementary school children all have swimming in the school.

The Greens and the new Pullach Plus parliamentary group tend to be against the provisional solution, which would cost at least four million euros and would also bring a lot of additional work to the administration.

Idea: Provisional on the school grounds

"We should now concentrate our forces as much as possible in order to move forward with the planning of the new building," requested Renate Grasse from the Greens to abandon the plans for an interim solution and only focus on the new building. But she then withdrew the application; after the administration had signaled that it would like to first research the framework conditions for the temporary arrangement - then the municipal council would have a solid basis on which to vote. “We try to find out more,” promised building authority director Peter Kotzur. However, his colleague Stefan Miller had already warned: "Building a temporary facility is no small matter, it is not an off-the-shelf building."

Meanwhile, the WiP confirmed on the one hand that everything should go quickly now, on the other hand, Reinhold Vennekold suggested that the interim swimming pool could possibly come to the premises of the Pater Rupert Mayer School - and then perhaps stop there.

"There is everything there, only a swimming pool is missing."

It also became clear that no one on the committee would carelessly impose a pool-free time on the people of Pullach.

Renate Grasse said that was the only reason why she was in favor of the Kuhwiese location: "The thought that a generation of schoolchildren could not learn to swim was unbearable to me."

Three years until the new building

With or without a temporary solution - a working group should now think about the size and equipment of the new leisure pool. The youth parliament can bring in wishes. The administration has already set out an initial cautious time frame for the project, so the whole thing would take three years. When asked, Andreas Most (Pullach Plus) said that it was planned quite generously; the city of Freising accomplished exactly the same project in just 14 months. And maybe, as his parliamentary group colleague Caroline Voit had already suggested at the meeting, the construction phase could be made more bearable for the swimmers on site by setting up a shuttle bus to a pool nearby.

In the meantime, the aging indoor pool in Pullach has reopened its outdoor area, the indoor area will follow on June 15. The deficiencies in fire protection that came to light during the Corona closure were able to be remedied.
