Although most of the protests in Colombia were peaceful in the framework of the protests on Wednesday, in the afternoon there were violent acts in various sectors of Bogotá.

This Wednesday, the Government Secretariat of Bogotá reported through a statement that violent protests were once again presented in the Portal of the Americas sector.

According to the authorities, several people attacked the police with stones, sticks and blunt objects and the anti-riot unit had to intervene to restore order.

The secretariat reported that an ESMAD police officer was injured in the middle of the demonstrations in the sector.

Also, in the Santa Librada neighborhood in the town of Usme, it was reported that a bus of the SITP public transport system was set on fire.

The same situation of burning a SITP bus happened in the Kennedy sector.

Authorities reported heavy clashes between police and protesters at the Suba website where the secretariat reported that police officers in the sector have been attacked with stones and Molotov cocktails and it has been necessary for ESMAD to intervene.

The Bosa sector has also witnessed heavy clashes and it has been reported that some people burned the motorcycle of a uniformed policeman.

The Brigadier General of the Bogotá Police, Eliécer Camacho, reported that an incident occurred in the sector of the monuments to the Catholic Monarchs when protesters wanted to demolish the statues at the site and a policeman was registered who was wounded.

So far there are no reports of arrests in the protests that took place in the Colombian capital.
