Several development and service projects will soon be put into service in Deir ez-Zor governorate after being rehabilitated from the damage caused by terrorism, most notably the automated bakery project in the Hamidiya neighborhood, the Justice Palace building, the Health Directorate and the Al-Basel drinking water station.

In order to see the implementation rates and the progress of work in a number of projects, the ministerial committee in charge of following up the implementation of service and development projects in Deir ez-Zor headed by the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Eng. Bassam Tohme, accompanied by Minister of State for Investment Affairs Muhammad Fayez Al-Barsha, toured the governorate today.

The tour included reviewing the works of the rehabilitation project of the first automated bakery in the Al-Hamidiyah neighborhood liberated from terrorism, which will take off early next month with a production capacity of 28 tons per day and be rehabilitated in cooperation with an international organization, in addition to the rehabilitation work of the Justice Palace building and the Health Directorate implemented by the General Company The construction and reconstruction rates have reached advanced stages.

The Director of the General Company for Building and Reconstruction Branch, Engineer Bassem Mahmoud, stated that the rehabilitation work in the Health Directorate building includes the maintenance of the ground and first floors, with a floor area of ​​about 1,000 square meters, including the preparation of rooms and facilities in the building. The works of the first and second phases of the Judicial Palace Rehabilitation Project have been completed, with the value of the first phase amounting to about 150 million pounds, and the second phase was funded by the Deir Ezzor Fund for Development with a value of 200 million pounds, where the completion rate of the entire project reached 98 percent, and it will be put into service soon.

The committee was also briefed on the works of isolating the small branch of the Euphrates River, which is taking place for the first time in more than ten years.

The Director of Water Resources, Engineer Muhammad Al-Agha, stated that the removal work includes the course of the small river branch for a distance of about 7 km.

The committee followed up on the rehabilitation project of Al-Basel drinking water station and Al-Sayed Al-Raees Corniche site in Deir ez-Zor, both of which are being rehabilitated with funding from the Deir ez-Zor Fund for Development.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Deir ez-Zor Fund for Development, Eng. Khaled Al-Aleij, stated that the fund is financing 24 service and development projects in the governorate at an amount of 4 billion Syrian pounds, where the project to rehabilitate the Al-Basel Water Station was funded with an amount of 200 million Syrian pounds and the Corniche project at an amount of 290 million pounds, which includes rubble removal and maintenance works. Pavements, asphalt shirt, iron fence and light poles.

The committee was also briefed on the work of harvesting and marketing wheat through a tour of a number of wheat fields in the western countryside of the governorate, and the Euphrates Center for marketing wheat in Deir ez-Zor, and hearing from farmers and workers in the marketing center about the reality of the crop and the procedures for receiving wheat.

The director of the branch of the Syrian Foundation for Grain, Eng. Adib Rakad, stated that the marketing operations that began on the twenty-seventh of last month are taking place with ease, and all facilities are provided to farmers to receive their crops through two permanent centers: Al-Furat Center in Deir Ezzor and Al-Mayadin Center in the eastern countryside of the governorate, in addition to three centers Buying and direct shipping in Abu Kamal, Adoption and Hatla.

The committee concluded its tour by visiting the mental disability center in the town of Ayyash, which is being maintained and rehabilitated from the damage caused by terrorism in cooperation with the “ADRA” organization.

The governor of Deir ez-Zor, Fadel Najjar, the secretary of the Arab Socialist Ba'ath Party branch, Raed Al-Ghadban, and a number of members of the People's Assembly participated in the tour.
