In the first quarter, salaried employment increased by 0.3%, which represents no more and no less the creation of 86,100 private and public positions between the end of December 2020 and the end of March 2021 , according to figures released this Thursday by INSEE.
These are especially 29,000 additional job creations compared to the first estimate of the statistical institute, published in early May.

We saw that private employment was increasing in the first quarter and it was a surprise because we had expected that it would decrease.
And there, we confirm this increase and it is even revised upwards
”, comments Sylvain Larrieu, head of the synthesis and economic situation of the labor market division at INSEE.
