There will be a childcare school in Erding from autumn 2022.

But that's just the beginning.

Erding - The day care centers are desperately looking for staff.

Nursing staff and nursing staff are few and far between - with increasing demand.

The district wants to counter this deficiency with its own training center.

District Administrator Martin Bayerstorfer (CSU) has now achieved partial success.

The Ministry of Culture has now approved the construction of a school for child care.

It will initially be located at the vocational school.

According to Bayerstorfer, the long-term goal remains the establishment of a specialist academy for social education.

The child care school will start operations at the beginning of the school year 2022/23.

"I am very happy that we can expand the educational landscape in Erdinger Land again," said the district administrator.

It is well known that the district needed a lot of patience to set up this vocational school.

In 2011, the CSU district parliamentary group submitted an application for the first time, but the award went to Freising.

In 2019 the SPD renewed its application, then the CSU.

In January 2020, Bayerstorfer approached the Ministry of Education again to get things moving.

Among other things, he mentioned population growth.

The district population increases by up to 2000 inhabitants every year.

Almost a third of the soon 139,000 inhabitants are under 25 years of age.

Compared to 2011, there were 280 more births per year.

According to the State Office for Statistics, the number of children under three years of age cared for has more than tripled since 2007.

The trend towards all-day schools is also continuing at support centers, primary schools and secondary schools.

"The increasing demand for childcare places has resulted in a corresponding need for skilled workers," says Bayerstorfer.

These arguments also convinced Minister of Social Affairs Carolina Trautner (CSU), who promised her support.

Now the Ministry of Education gave the green light.

Bayerstorfer now hopes that as many young people as possible will decide to work as nannies because of a nearby apprenticeship. According to him, it will be a state school. The district takes on the sponsorship, i.e. the costs for the building and maintenance, but not for the staff. If the academy is also approved one day, the district would probably have to rebuild. ham
