Berlin / Munich - Since the Corona crisis at the latest, the online business with groceries and other everyday and long-term needs has been booming.

Many large supermarket chains such as Edeka with its Bringmeister brand or Rewe are adjusting to this with their own delivery services.

Now the next challenger is pushing for the attractive German market.

Getir wants to get started in a few weeks.

The company from Istanbul, founded in 2015, enters the race with the promise of delivering the order within ten minutes.

Start should be in Berlin.

Getir: A multi-billion dollar delivery service from Turkey with great ambitions

Financed with hundreds of millions of euros in venture capital, the business model corresponds to that of other start-ups such as Gorillas, Flink, Picnic or Rohlik.

Lieferando also wants to deliver supermarket items in the future and will soon be integrating this service into its range.

Getir will soon be supplying Berliners with groceries - other German cities will follow

Getir is initially focusing on capital cities or large centers.

In Germany, the company wants to have a presence in Stuttgart, Cologne and Munich in addition to Berlin.

The delivery service has been offering groceries in London and Amsterdam since the beginning of the year.

The company also wants to get started in Paris.

All in all, Getir in Germany is planning to expand to ten cities * within two years, spread across the entire republic and wants to have a say in the market leadership in the process.

The company has long since achieved this goal on its home market in Turkey.

In addition to groceries, Getir also delivers food from restaurants, butchers and bakeries there.
