The firefighting teams of the Forestry Department of Lattakia Agriculture Directorate, in cooperation with the people, put out a fire that broke out in the forests of Zama village in the countryside of Jableh, which damaged about 15 dunums.

Director of Lattakia Agriculture, Eng. Munther Khairbek, explained that 3 field teams participated in extinguishing the fire due to the difficulty of the vehicles reaching the site and the ruggedness of the area, with the exception of the eastern side towards the village of Tal Sarim, where a fire engine and a tractor participated in the extinguishing operations.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Khairbek indicated that the fire destroyed about 15 dunums, including lands planted with olives, in addition to the injury of one of the workers to his hand, and he was taken to the hospital.

In Tartous, the fire brigade, in cooperation with the Civil Defense and the Forestry Department of the Agriculture Directorate, put out two fires in the Mashta al-Helou area.

The commander of the Tartous Fire Brigade, Colonel Samir Shamma, explained that the first forest fire broke out at 2:00 pm today in the village of Beit Kaber, affiliated to Mashta Al-Helou, pointing out that the wind speed contributed to the widening of the fire, which was extinguished by 7 fire engines.

The commander of the fire brigade indicated that at the same time a fire broke out in agricultural and forest lands in the Jabal al-Sayda area of ​​Mashta al-Helou, as the same cars went to the site to put out the fire, stressing that the two fires were under control while they were in the cooling stage.
