On Wednesday 9 June, the French government announced in Ouest-France, through the voice of the Secretary of State for Gender Equality Elisabeth Moreno, six new measures to fight against domestic violence and murders.
This initiative follows the conclusions of an inspection mission carried out after the feminicide of Mérignac (Gironde), which pointed to a series of failures in the monitoring of the violent partner who repeatedly offends and the protection of the victim.

Thus, some 3,000 “
serious danger telephones
” will be made available to the courts by 2022, against 1,324 today, and a file of perpetrators of domestic violence will be set up.
A body for the judicial follow-up of individual situations will also be created in the courts, while the control and possession of weapons will be strengthened.
Finally, a measures monitoring committee will be set up and a plan to strengthen the use of the anti-reconciliation bracelet will be deployed.
