"One of the rare subjects of consensus"

It is on the basis of the reform that the opposition is most marked.

The idea of raising the retirement age from 62 to 64 is met with the disapproval of 7 out of 10 French people. In this respect, public opinion is constant: in September 2019, the figures were similar.

The president of Odoxa, Gaël Sliman, even presents this reform as “

one of the rare subjects of consensus between French people.

"

If the head of state persists in his will, he may well be faced with a new explosion of social anger.

64% of French people would support protest movements, while 16% would be ready to take to the streets.

In 2019, the presidential mandate was shaken up by sometimes violent demonstrations, especially during “yellow vests” rallies.

global increase in violence in our society

", and not as an "

isolated act

", to use the expression used by the head of state himself.

The scene is also perceived by 75% of citizens as "

a decline in the respect of our fellow citizens for the presidential office

".

Others (62%) see in it “

the very strong personal rejection

” that the president arouses.
