Two fires have caused fire and rescue services in Gauting and Unterbrunn.
In the end, both missions went off lightly.
Gauting / Unterbrunn
- A fire in an underground car park is extremely dangerous, and not just in the figurative sense.
The heat can quickly become so great that the building can be seriously damaged.
That is why numerous fire brigades are always on the move when an emergency call of this kind occurs - as was the case on Thursday afternoon at Von-Taube-Weg in Gauting.
More than 80 helpers were on duty there, luckily there was no open fire.
That happened in the afternoon when a wheel loader burned in a gravel pit near Unterbrunn.
“I smelled the fire right away,” says an elderly lady who sat in the shade with seven other residents of the relatively new apartment building on Von-Taube-Weg after leaving the house as a precaution. A young woman had also smelled the smoke from the underground car park and alerted the fire brigade at around 1 p.m. The control center sends the Gauting, Krailling, Stockdorf and Buchendorf weirs as well as special vehicles from the Starnberg, Söcking, Oberpfaffenhofen and Percha fire brigades, the district fire inspection, an expert from the THW and numerous helpers from the rescue service. Fortunately, the situation on site turned out to be less dramatic: A car owner had started a Porsche 911 Targa, a vintage car, in the underground car park, and something began to stew, smoked and stank barbarically. Whether the car had been driven beforeyou don't know yet, said Gauting's police chief Ernst Wiedemann that afternoon. In any case, there was no damage to the building. There was no open fire in the garage, said Gauting's fire brigade commander Stefan Klaußner after the operation. The fire brigade ventilated and disconnected the battery from the car. Most of the emergency services were able to move away quickly. The second fire operation ended without injuries: In a gravel pit west of Unterbrunn, a wheel loader caught fire for no apparent cause, and the driver was able to get to safety. The fire brigades Oberbrunn, Unterbrunn and Gauting with around 40 emergency services were able to extinguish the fire quickly. Since operating materials had leaked, employees of the water management office checked whether the soil had to be dredged. The possible cause is a technical defect. There was still no information on the amount of damage.
