751,030 euros - that is the proud sum that the initiators collected to save the butcher owner.

The targeted million is not far away.

Giggenhausen

- "Overwhelming" - this is how the Dorfwirtschaft team in Giggenhausen described what they received in the first round of declarations of intent to save the Dorfwirtschaft Metzgerwirt.

225 letters of intent to participate in the planned cooperative have been received, and the remarkable sum of 751,030 euros has been raised. Now the deadline for submitting letters of intent has been extended to June 27th.

You are hopeful and optimistic that you will raise the million you need.

211 private individuals, nine associations and five companies submitted letters of intent

"We are on the right track!" Is written above a letter to the citizens of Giggenhausen, which is now being distributed as a direct mail after the first declarations of intent have been evaluated. This is a personal thank you for the “excellent participation”, writes Christopher Aichinger from the Dorfwirtschaft team. In figures it looks like this: 225 declarations of intent have been received so far, including 211 private individuals, seven associations, five companies and two associations without an address. The smallest amount was 30 euros, the largest amount was 25,000 euros. Most often - namely 51 times - investments with 1000 euros were promised. Most of the commitments came from citizens of Giggenhausen, but there were also commitments from over 20 other localities.

Aichinger's conclusion: “Our call for courage and for the future has so far led to a great result.” The project, they are pleased, has broad support - and that is an important prerequisite for the realization of the cooperative idea.

Also important: the approval and support for the project "Rescue the Village Economy" is spreading through all generations, especially young families are very interested.

Now they want to intensify contact with the Bavarian Cooperative Association

750,000 euros - that is a strong signal from the citizens of Giggenhausen, and it is said that it could also create a “spirit of optimism” in the surrounding area. In any case, the team is confident that it will achieve the necessary equity capital of at least one million euros. To this end, the urns for submitting the declarations of intent have again been set up at the butcher's inn (daily from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) and behind the church portal (daily from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) in order to offer the numerous interested parties the opportunity to submit a declaration of intent. In addition, such declarations can now also be completed online on the homepage (www.giggenhausen.de). The next step will be to intensify contact with the Bavarian Cooperative Association. And also very important: "The search for tenants has also been very promising so far",it says in the letter to the Giggenhausener. Because of Corona and because the working group does not yet have a legal form, a lease contract has not yet been concluded. But that too can now be pursued concretely. Because: "We are on the right track!"
