The “Wos Guads on site” initiative is calling for a gastro challenge from June 18th to 20th.
23 hosts from all over the district take on the challenge of conjuring up fine delicacies from regional products.
Waakirchen
- It is passion that counts, says Nadia Sadeghian, founder of the Waakirchen initiative “Wos Guads on site”.
And the hosts who take part in the Gastro Challenge are not lacking in this.
From June 18 to 20, companies from all over the district will take on the challenge of conjuring up fine delicacies from regional products.
23 restaurateurs take part.
This number is well below the 40 mark that Sadeghian had announced as a target.
This does not diminish the enthusiasm and joy of the wealth of ideas of those who take part in the challenge and create a lot of imaginative things.
Support for local farmers
The initiative launched the campaign to support local farmers.
In view of the corona crisis, the challenge should also help the hosts.
The Waakirchen community and the Gartler district association are on board as challenge partners.
Waakirchen's mayor, Norbert Kerkel, is the patron, while his wife Simone supports the challenge as chairwoman of the district horticultural association.
It is a common good project under the heading "Marketplace for good business" of the location marketing company of the district of Miesbach.
Lots of support from Waakirchen
What Sadeghian is particularly pleased about is the good response from the catering establishments in the Waakirchen area.
Almost everyone participates.
Sadeghian knows that the pizzeria in Schaftlach, which was previously purely Italian-oriented, has now bought a veal from the farmer next door.
With the Challenge, the initiative has come a good deal closer to the goal of anchoring the value of regionality in people's minds.
The guests are asked to post a photo of their Challenge dish on Instagram under # gastrochallenge2021.
Attractive prizes await those who take part.
