Culture returns with renewed vigor

After the forced break in the pandemic, culture is coming to life again, this can be clearly felt this weekend: whether it's an art walk in Olching, the Eichenau cultural gardens or an exhibition by 13 artists in Gröbenzell, there is really something on offer. After the forced break in the pandemic, culture is coming to life again, this can be clearly felt this weekend: whether it's an art walk in Olching, the Eichenau cultural gardens or an exhibition by 13 artists in Gröbenzell, there is really something on offer.

There was a lot of time for creativity during the lockdown.

Enjoy art at the Mühlbach

For the second time, a group of artists from Olching is organizing an outdoor exhibition.

As in the previous year, the “art walk” is to take place along the footpath and bike path on the Mühlbach between the Volksfestplatz and the bridge near the railway line.

Last year in July, the first open-air exhibition of its kind attracted a lot of interested people.

Along the way, the artists had set up their works at a great distance from one another.

Everyone who came by could not only look at the pictures, but also get into conversation with the painters.

“That was very well received,” says organizer Birgitta Grüters.

"We want to build on the success."

Perseverance in lockdown

The artists have been busy during the lockdown.

As part of a course at the adult education center, they were able to see each other in person until November.

Even then it was clear that there should be another art walk.

“It was great to have a goal,” says the Olchinger.

Many new works were created throughout the long winter and cold spring, always with a view to the one summer day on which they could be shown to the public.

Many works with ample space

The range is wide. There will be watercolors, pictures in oil and acrylic paint as well as photos, announced Grüters. Again, the works of the individual participants are set up at a distance of 20 meters to avoid crowds. There is only one thing the artists want to do differently than last year. Back then, a few of the easels the pictures were on were blown over by the wind. This time, more and more small table easels would be used, says Grüters. After all, they could also be put in the meadow.

The art walk will take place on Sunday, June 13th, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

If the weather is bad, it will be postponed to June 20th.

Pictures by Birgitta and Frank Grüters, Irene Nestler, Helmut Eichmüller, Christiane Toscani, Christina Greil, Elisabeth Leonard, Sieglinde Schmid and Gerlinde Altenbuchner are shown.

Artists open their gardens

Eichenau is also all about culture at the weekend.

Artists and cultural movements open their gardens, a total of eleven locations are available.

The Eichenau Music Association is delighted to finally be able to play in front of an audience again.

Most recently, the musicians had rehearsed in a parking lot - now they are playing a concert on Sunday at 11 a.m. in the art area on Zugspitzstrasse - almost like before the pandemic.

There is also a musical treat here on Saturday.

A string duo concert is on the program at 2.30 p.m. (also at 3.30 p.m. in the inner courtyard of the Protestant church).

Jazz and funk from the “Bandana Swing” combo can be heard on the same day from 2pm to 4.30pm in the inner courtyard of the evangelical care center.

Flowers in a completely different way

Literature, handicrafts and painting also arouse curiosity.

Things get exotic at Zaunkönigweg 1 with the Bilgic / Sakati family.

On Saturday and Sunday between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. they show flower arrangements in a glass as they know it from their homeland.

The grasses were collected every summer from different regions of Syria, dried in the sun and colored with bright colors.

"They grow everywhere, only the region they come from made a small difference in their appearance and structure," says the website.

The organizer of the Eichenau cultural gardens is the municipality.

The current regulations on infection protection apply.

Anyone who wants to get an overview of all locations and dates can do so at www.eichenau.de.

Free concerts in the PUC cultural center

Cultural life is also returning to the PUC cultural center.

On Saturday and Sunday, the string academics of the Puchheimer Jugendkammerorchester (PJKO) will perform in front of an audience for the first time in months.

The start is always at 6.30 p.m.

"We are really looking forward to the live podium," said Ursula Bischof.

Works by Bach, Mozart and Beethoven, among others, are played.

At the piano: Ayumi Janke.

Peter and Simone Michielsen are in charge.

Admission to the concerts is free, donations are welcome, prior registration is not necessary.

A chamber concert is on the program on Monday.

Special exhibition in Groebenzell

From next Saturday to June 27th, 13 artists from the GröbenArt association will present their works in the gallery in the Bürgerhaus.

In addition to their own creations, they show those of the recently deceased chairman of the artists' association, Hans J. Hönninger.

“In these times, art is a happiness that the community likes to share with the public”: The artist collective agrees on this.

The creative minds were very active during the pandemic: They painted, filed, folded, rolled and sprayed with paint, photographed and installed, and were inspired by nature and everyday impressions.

This is how many unique works of art were created.

In addition to the pictures by Hönninger, who originally wanted to initiate a solo exhibition in Groebenzell in June 2021, there are now works by Irene Nestler, Markus Heller, Barbara Curstädt, Norbert Völlmecke, Cassie Tumlinson, Wilfriede Müller, Edeltraut Knahl, Jinny Kim, Agnieszka Jagodzinska-Kapfer, Michaela Friedrich, Klaus Dippold and Karin Piede represented. The whole thing can be seen in the Bürgerhaus, Rathausstrasse 1. Opening times: Tuesday, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
