A company in Fürstenfeldbruck is now offering e-scooters for hire.
Several scooters are available across the city.
Fürstenfeldbruck - The authorities had been in contact with the company "Bird" based in Delaware / USA for some time.
Actually, the goal was to define exactly where the e-scooters should be offered and where they should be returned.
"We wanted to draw up an agreement, but then there were communication problems," said a spokeswoman for the public transport office when asked.
Now the company was faster than expected - and the e-scooters are here.
Because according to Tagblatt information, there is no traffic law order, the plan for an orderly return does not work, at least now.
The intention was that the rental of a scooter could only end at certain places, whereby the app itself also defines so-called nests.
Electric scooters allowed in public spaces
From a purely legal point of view, the scooters may be offered in public spaces without an agreement.
They just mustn't be a hindrance.
In principle, one welcomes the e-scooter in the public transport point.
It is a contribution to making mobility more flexible.
It is hoped to be able to integrate the scooters into the planned mobility stations at train stations.
"We still hope for a meaningful vote," said the spokeswoman.
Electric scooter and the app
If you want to rent an e-scooter, you have to be of legal age and download the Bird app onto your smartphone. Payment is made by PayPal or credit card. The loan costs one euro, every minute or part thereof an additional 19 cents. The full invoice will be issued at the end of the journey. The app shows where to find the scooters and where they are not allowed to be parked. There is a no parkin zone around the Bruck tax office.
You should only ride on cycle paths or on sidewalks if this is expressly permitted.
One should wear a helmet.
You don't need a driver's license.
The same rains of alcohol apply as when driving a car.
Local partners, so it says on the website of the company Bird, took care of the service.
When Tagblatt asked for more details, a Bird spokeswoman referred the company to the company's website and otherwise wished everyone a nice day.
