- The Viva Vita restaurant and conference center of Lebenshilfe Freising will reopen on June 14th at Gartenstrasse 57 in Freising.

“Finally it goes on.

At last we have work and guests again! ”Not only operations manager Christian Burger was delighted, but also his ten employees in the kitchen, service, cleaning and reception.

As with all restaurateurs, the corona pandemic and lockdowns also made it difficult for the Viva Vita restaurant.

After a phase with a to-go offer, it was closed on December 1, 2020.

Short-time work - that wasn't easy

“The period of short-time work was not easy for some of our employees,” explains Burger. Because Viva Vita is not just one restaurant among many: It is a so-called inclusion company and recognized as a non-profit GmbH. “We also employ people with disabilities in our kitchen and in the restaurant and conference service. They have equal rights to employees without disabilities and receive the same collective wage ”. Work processes are adapted to the skills of employees with disabilities and there is special support. This is very important, because it is precisely these employees who gain a special degree of self-confidence and joy through their good work. "That's why we, together with the open work for the disabled at Lebenshilfe, took special care toTo give our employees support and confirmation during these difficult times! ”emphasizes Viva-Vita director Christian Burger.

New goals: healthy, light cuisine

In the forced break, the conceptual development progressed, says Lebenshilfe managing director Michael Schwaiger, describing the future plans.

“After a phase of getting back into day-to-day business, we want to gradually implement our goals: healthy cuisine, light dishes, small delicacies.

Our small, fine catering area should also be continued, gladly also in cooperation with catering partners ”.

The most important thing, however, is that after this dry spell, loyal regular customers and new guests can come together healthily at Viva Vita 2021.
