Greetings from the elbow, more or less respected social distancing ... It was a busy first day of reunion and necessarily marked by the Covid-19 pandemic for the members of the G7.
Always eagerly awaited, the family photo has not escaped the rule.
Spaced a few meters apart, the great leaders posed for a historical snapshot, the first for two years, around Queen Elizabeth II, who received her guests accompanied by her successor on the throne, her son Charles.

In this unique photo, we can see German Chancellor Angela Merkel, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, Queen of England Elizabeth II , Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi and United States President Joe Biden.
Before posing, all these beautiful people had gathered for a reception at the Eden Project, huge greenhouses in Cornwall showcasing the plant diversity of the planet.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William (the Queen's grandson) and Catherine Middleton, were also present for the reception.
They were then to have dinner together.
On the menu: gazpacho, roasted turbot and British strawberry pavlova.

The end of a day during which various subjects were discussed such as the education of girls, the climate emergency but above all the Covid-19 pandemic and the more equitable sharing of anti-Covid vaccines by rich countries, which have monopolized a maximum of doses to the detriment of the poorest. The day was also marked by the meeting, for the first time in person, between Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron, one living his first G7 as president, the other possibly his last.
