The long wait, which has even been extended for another year following the global corona crisis, will come to an end tonight (Friday) when Euro 2020 kicks off.
Even before the opening match between Italy and Turkey, the grand opening ceremony of the tournament will be held, with 16,000 spectators allowed to enter the Stadio Olimpico in Rome for the first time in 15 months.

During the ceremony, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli will sing the song "Nonson Dorma", which is associated with the 90 'World Cup, then performed by Luciano Pavarotti.
