The mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, met with the president of the IACHR to discuss matters related to the protests in Colombia.

The mayor of Bogotá, Claudia López, reported this Thursday that she met with Antonia Urrejola, president of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), to discuss issues related to the protests in Colombia.


López added that during the meeting he delivered a report on the effects on human rights during the protests, both of civilian citizens and uniformed members of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police.

The president asked the IACHR for support to urgently investigate, prosecute and repair the cases of these complaints by civilians and members of the public forces affected.

In addition, the mayor thanked the institution for its visit to Colombia and its interest in meeting, discussing and receiving information from broad sectors of the country.

The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights ended its meetings in Colombia with a meeting with representatives of the Misak indigenous minga and youth organizations to hear their testimonies and receive information.

Antonia Urrejola has not yet specified when they will publish their conclusions from the visit and the investigations.
