For the first time last year, the police banned Victoria Park from holding June 4th candlelight gatherings. Several stakes and pan-democrats who had attended were later charged with inciting others to participate in, holding, or participating in unauthorized gatherings.

Since 4 defendants including Huang Zhifeng have pleaded guilty and have been imprisoned, and many other defendants including Li Zhuoren, He Junren, Chen Haohuan, etc., have been sentenced or taken in prison for other cases, only 9 defendants have been released on bail.

Judge Gao Jinxiu revealed that He Xiulan and Yang Sen will plead guilty.

8 people including Li Zhuoren pleaded not guilty

Judge Gao Jinxiu, at the request of the prosecution, merged all the defendants' cases and revealed that He Xiulan and Yang Sen intend to plead guilty, but Li Zhuoren, Cai Yaochang, Liang Jinwei, Zhao Enlai, Zou Xingtong, Liang Guohua, Hu Zhiwei and He Guilan intend not to plead guilty, and the remaining 10 The person is not ready to reply.

This case involves 24 defendants, of which Huang Zhizhong, Cen Aohui, Yuan Jiawei and Liang Kaiqing have pleaded guilty and sentenced to prison. Today, only the remaining 20 defendants have appeared in court, but 11 of them have been taken into custody for different cases.

They were separately voted for illegally inciting others to participate in, hold or participate in an unauthorized assembly outside the Victoria Park fountain on June 4, 2020.

Of the 20 defendants, only 9 can still be released on bail.

Thirteen of them were charged with inciting others to knowingly participate in an unauthorized assembly, including Li Zhuoren, He Junren, Zou Xingtong, Cai Yaochang, Zhang Wenguang, Mai Haihua, Yin Zhaojian, Zhao Enlai, Liang Yaozhong, Liang Jinwei, Li Zhiying, Guo Yongjian and Chen Haohuan.

The above-mentioned defendants except Li Zhiying, together with democrats, were charged with knowingly participating in an unauthorized assembly crime, including Liang Guoxiong, He Xiulan, Liang Guohua, Hu Zhiwei, Zhu Kaidi, Huang Zhifeng, Luo Guancong, Cen Aohui, Yuan Jiawei, Liang Kaiqing , He Guilan, Zhang Kunyang and Yang Sen.

Li Zhuoren was also charged with the crime of holding an unauthorized assembly.

Luo Guancong and Zhang Kunyang were absent from the trial earlier.
