Good news: the renovation cost 284,000 euros less than estimated.
Poing - The renovated artificial turf in the Poingen sports center opened on Thursday afternoon. Ludwig Auer, head of the football department at TSV Poing, and head of youth football, Marco Reischl, carried out the official kick-off. The artificial turf carpet consists of three layers, is laid floating, pleasantly soft and easy to play. According to the manufacturer, there is no plastic abrasion because neither granules nor sand are filled. Mayor Thomas Stark was not only happy about the new lawn, but also about the fact that the renovation cost less than estimated: 610,000 euros. Originally 894,000 euros had been estimated. As a representative of the manufacturer reported, the substructure is in very good shape with a few exceptions, which is why less work and thus less costs than expected.Mario Mittrach from the building authority and sports ground manager Guido Lenz were there at the kick-off.
At the opening of the refurbished artificial turf field in the sports center, Poings Mayor Thomas Stark announced that the tartan track and surfaces in the stadium will not be refurbished until next year. It had actually been planned for this year, but the project will be postponed for two reasons: According to initial studies, the work will be more extensive than expected due to the very ailing condition, and secondly: “The stadium would have to be closed for the renovation. But that would not make sense now that the Corona regulations have been relaxed and more sport is possible again. People want to go out and do sports, also in the stadium, ”said Thomas Stark. The money saved on the artificial turf pitch will probably be used for the tartan surface.
