Real EM euphoria may not yet set in in Corona times.

Nevertheless, football fans can watch many games together in restaurants and pubs this year too.

Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen

- Hundreds of people celebrating and cheering together?

Given the past year, this seems pretty far away.

And yet: Just in time for the start of the European football championship this Friday, the incidence in the district allows public viewing - i.e. joint football viewing - to be possible.

Of course, within the framework of the applicable hygiene guidelines and on a smaller scale.

It starts this Friday with the game Turkey against Italy (9 p.m.).

This can be seen, for example, in “Da Luca” on Bierhäuslweg in Bad Heilbrunn.

For this, host Luca Lento has bought an 86-inch television.

"We'll be showing some games inside," he says.

The games that start at 5 p.m. are shown.

"The anticipation is great," says Lento.

For Germany games, the "Rocks off" in Bad Tölz also opens during the week

Dino Garrasi from Tölz “Rocks Off” on Badstrasse is also prepared for public viewing.

In any case, there will be two large televisions and a screen in the restaurant that will show games.

Normally it only operates on weekends, but Garrasi also opens during the week for Germany games.

It is not yet entirely clear whether there will be another public viewing in the courtyard, as offered at the 2018 World Cup.

In the "Jaegers" in Lenggries, located directly on the Brauneck, you can also watch football next to the food.

According to information from the restaurant, all games with German participation will be shown.

The German national team will have their first appearance on Tuesday, June 15, against France (9 p.m.).

In the “Jailhouse” and “Kesselhaus” plans for public viewing are still in progress

There will also be European championships in the Tölz “Jailhouse”.

In any case inside, outside a decision will still be made, it is said on request.

In the Tölz “Kesselhaus”, the planning is still ongoing.

More will be clear at the beginning of next week.

Not included, however, are some locations that were last offered public viewing at the 2018 World Cup.

At that time, for example, the municipal utilities had set up a large screen on the grounds of the outdoor pool at the Eichmühle, on which some games were shown.

"This time there is no open-air wall planned," reports Stadtwerke managing director Walter Huber when asked.

"Everyone is still unsettled about the many lockdowns."
