The organizers of the flag parade and the Israel Police reached an agreement today (Friday) on holding the flag parade to mark the unification of Jerusalem this coming Tuesday. This, after the political security cabinet ruled this week that the parade, which was planned to take place yesterday, will be postponed to next week, and also after the police did not allow it to take place on the original route planned.

As part of the understandings, the parade will march from Haneviim Street through Sultan Suleiman Street to the Nablus Gate, where, in the gate plaza, a mass dance with Israeli flags will take place. From there, the marchers will continue to the IDF Square through the Jaffa Gate and enter the Western Wall, partly through the Muslim Quarter and partly through the Jewish Quarter, for safety reasons and to prevent overcrowding.

"We thank the Israel Police for its willingness to protect freedom of expression, the freedom of culture and self-determination of the citizens of Israel," said the "If You Will" movement, which is one of the organizers of the march.

"Jerusalem has never been freer and safer for all denominations and religions than during Israeli sovereignty. We must not fold the flags and give up these historic assets because of terrorist organizations and other evil seekers. This is a first-rate, educational, national and Zionist event. We call on the general public to come and march With us with Israeli flags in the state capital "
