Algerian voters are heading to the polling stations today as part of early legislative elections to elect their representatives to the People's National Assembly.
According to the Algerian news agency, WAJ, about 24 million voters were invited to choose 407 new deputies in the National People's Assembly (the lower house of parliament) for a period of five years.
1483 lists will participate in the legislative elections, including 646 party lists and 837 free candidates list. It is expected that the official results will not be released before tomorrow.
13,000 polling stations and 61543 polling stations inside the country were allocated, in addition to 357 polling stations abroad, in addition to 139 mobile offices, according to the data of the Independent National Electoral Authority.
Last February, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced the dissolution of parliament and the organization of prior legislative elections.
