The European Union called on British Prime Minister Boris Johnson today to implement the agreement he signed on his country's exit from the European Union in full.
Reuters quoted European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen as saying during a meeting with Johnson and European Council President Charles Michel: "The peace agreement reached in Ireland and the Brexit agreement are essential for everyone to implement."
Von der Leyen indicated that there is complete unity within the European Union in this regard, pointing out that the Johnson government and the European Union have agreed and signed Brexit, and it must be adhered to.
In turn, Johnson said he was "committed to finding practical solutions to Britain's exit from the European Union within the framework of the Northern Ireland Protocol."
Johnson had unilaterally postponed the implementation of some provisions of the Northern Ireland protocol within the Brexit agreement, which was opposed by the European Union countries.
