After the COVID-19 pandemic eased, the services of the government and public organizations have been resumed since the beginning of this year, including the "cash register cart" service of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. However, recently there are still advertisements claiming that "the cash register cart has been suspended". "Longshen Sand Machine" is completely different from the "Cashier Cart Schedule" information provided on the HKMA website.

In response to the inquiry of "Hong Kong 01", Coin Dragon admitted that the content of the advertisement was outdated and was removed from the shelves after receiving the inquiry, and apologized for the confusion caused by the mistake.

The HKMA stated that it is aware of the incident and recommends citizens who need to use the cashier cart service to browse the HKMA station for accurate information.

The cash register of the HKMA was suspended for two months at the end of last year due to the outbreak of the fourth wave of the epidemic. It resumed service on February 18 this year and traveled around Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories.

However, many online platforms have advertisements claiming that "the cashier cart has been suspended." It is recommended that the public switch to the "coin exchange dragon sand machine". Even when searching for the cashier cart on Google, the relevant advertisement was the first search result. The information is very different.

At the beginning of this month, the reporter saw the cash register truck parked in Fu Shan Village, Tai Po, collecting coins after consulting the relevant advertisement. Today, he searched for the cash register truck on Google again, and the wrong advertisement still appeared.

In its reply to "Hong Kong 01", the Monetary Authority stated that it was aware of the problem with the advertisement and urged citizens who need to use the cash register to browse the website of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority's "Coin Collection Project" and refer to the service location and time to ensure accurate information, but There was no response to whether the advertisement was false or misleading, and it was not explained whether further actions would be taken, including requesting the relevant company to withdraw the advertisement.

Richard Kollen, Chief Executive Officer of Coin Dragon, also stated to "Hong Kong 01" that after the investigation, it was found that the relevant advertisement had outdated information, which had been deleted immediately, and the HKMA was notified of the error.

Kollen emphasized that this is not a new advertisement, but was placed during the suspension of the cash register service at the beginning of the year. He apologizes for the confusion caused by the advertising error. He also pointed out that the company experienced a brain drain during the period and has now hired a public relations company to assist in the promotion.
