Beijing-Sana
An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale hit Yingjiang County in southwest China's Yunnan Province.
The quake struck at a depth of 16 kilometers, and its epicenter was located at 24.96 degrees north latitude and 97.89 degrees east longitude, Xinhua news agency quoted the China Seismological Networks Center as saying.
There were no reports of injuries or material damage as a result of the tremor.
