Two men drowned today (Saturday) to death on various beaches within hours.

Around 12:00, a 70-year-old resident of Kiryat Yam drowned between Yamit Beach and Zevulun Beach in the city.

About three hours later, a 50-year-old man drowned at Dor Beach near Zichron Yaacov.

About two hours later, a 65-year-old woman was seriously injured after drowning on the Carmel coast in Haifa.

In Kiryat Yam, passers-by on the beach called the police and MDA staff, who provided the 70-year-old man with medical treatment on the spot. The team evacuated him in critical condition to Rambam Hospital in Haifa, while performing resuscitation operations there.

Police said there was no criminal suspicion.

"We arrived at the promenade with the intensive care unit, and citizens signaled to us from the undeclared beach strip that there is no lifeguard," said a senior MDA paramedic, Jonathan Carvajal.

"The man who was pulled from the sea by passers-by lay on the sand with no pulse and no breathing and performed resuscitation operations on him. We continued the medical treatment that included electric shocks, put the man in an intensive care unit and evacuated him to the hospital while continuing resuscitation when his condition was critical." He added.

At Dor Beach, near Moshav Habonim, MDA staff performed resuscitation operations on a 50-year-old man, at the end of which he was forced to determine his death on the spot. MDA paramedic Lior Almkeys said: "We arrived with the intensive care unit at the declared beach and joined the beach lifeguard and paramedic. "We performed resuscitation operations on a man who was pulled from the sea unconscious, with no pulse and no breathing. We continued the medical treatment and performed advanced resuscitation operations that included resuscitation, massage and medication, but unfortunately in the end he was pronounced dead."

In Haifa, MDA medics and paramedics performed resuscitation operations on a 65-year-old woman on Hof Hacarmel, and evacuated her to Rambam Hospital in the city after they restored her pulse, and when she was breathing. A senior MDA paramedic, Alex Kaplian, described that passers-by on the beach said they saw her unconscious underwater, and pulled her out of the sea, so the paramedic performed initial resuscitation operations on her.

"After a few minutes of intensive medical care her heart was beating again. We put her in an intensive care unit and evacuated her to the hospital while she was breathing," he said.
