Vienna-Sana

Iranian Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araqchi ruled out reaching a final conclusion in the sixth round of negotiations to revive the nuclear agreement between Iran and the "Four Plus One" group, which began earlier today in the Austrian capital Vienna, noting that the negotiations "face complex situations."

Fars news agency quoted Araqchi as saying in a statement after the conclusion of the new round of negotiations today: “We are facing a complicated situation because America's return to the nuclear agreement includes a number of technical, legal and political issues, in addition to the fact that verifying America's actions in itself includes some complexity, and that must be planned scrutinizing it and setting standards for this matter,” he explained, explaining that the decision was taken to give more speed to work and study the disputed issues during meetings between experts and political managers in order to reach the necessary solutions.

Araqchi added: The measures that Iran should take and how to organize them with the return to the nuclear agreement are surrounded by some complications due to the rapid scientific and technical development that Iran has reached during this period, indicating that these matters require detailed studies, including the timetable for implementing these measures.

Araqchi stressed the need for the Americans to take the first step, and then Iran will verify it to return to its commitments. He said: “This is the standard of our work, but this matter in itself needs to set a timetable, and how to determine the stages of support and ratification in each country after reaching the final conclusion.” These matters require stages of detailed, technical, political and legal negotiations.

Araqchi also denied that the negotiations have a direct connection to the Iranian presidential elections, indicating that despite that, the elections are of great importance.

The work of the sixth round of negotiations to revive the nuclear agreement between Iran and the “Four Plus One” group, which was launched earlier today, falls within the framework of the meetings of the joint committee of the nuclear agreement aimed at returning the United States

and to ensure its full and effective implementation.

Negotiations began on the 2nd of last April between the delegations of Iran and the "Four Plus One" group, which includes France, Britain, Germany, Russia and China, and in the presence of an American delegation without directly participating in the negotiations aimed at returning Washington to the agreement and lifting its sanctions on Iran as a prelude to the latter's return to its obligations under it.
