In addition, he will be on the route Hamburg-Dortmund-Cologne-Frankfurt Airport-Stuttgart-Munich.
The giant train had already been baptized by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
The German head of state had done this as part of an anniversary event at Berlin Central Station on Tuesday.
Steinmeier gave the 374 meter long XXL ICE the name “Federal Republic of Germany”.
