The regulation does not apply to facilities that ensure public services.
Bars, restaurants and events have to close earlier during this period.
In parks, for example, playgrounds and sports fields are closed.
On Saturday, the authorities reported 6,700 new infections - the highest value measured this year within a day.
Mayor Sergej Sobyanin expects the new wave to peak in July at the latest.
Such a situation must be responded to in the metropolis of 12 million people, he said.
"Many Muscovites are in intensive care and are artificially ventilated," he said on state television.
The risk of infection is great.
He didn't give any numbers.
There have been hardly any restrictions in Moscow for months.
The authorities in the metropolis with a population of 12 million now also want to increasingly check whether protective masks are worn in the subway or when shopping.

Sobjanin once again promoted corona vaccinations.
"This is very important, especially for the elderly." Although Russia, with its 146 million inhabitants, has developed three vaccines of its own, many Russians do not want to be vaccinated.
