The rush was huge, all appointments were gone within a very short time: 2400 doses of the vaccine from Biontech / Pfizer were inoculated at the weekend in a large campaign in St. Wolfgang.
St. Wolfgang - Udo Hahn from St. Wolfgang and Chrysovalantis Kantzeloglou from Dorfen just don't want to let up in the fight against the corona pandemic for a return to a normal life.
At the weekend they carried out another mass vaccination with many supporters in the St. Wolfgang Goldachhalle.
On Saturday and Sunday, 2,400 people aged 18 and over enjoyed a first Corona vaccination.
Online appointment allocation: Almost 20,000 hits in 15 minutes
Hahn and Kantzeloglou, as the main organizers, had already organized a large vaccination campaign with Astrazeneca two weeks ago with practically no experience.
This time, appointments were made over several days via an online portal, Hahn told our newspaper.
That worked brilliantly, the interest was huge.
Already on Monday there were almost 20,000 accesses to the portal in 15 minutes.
This time interested people aged 18 and over were vaccinated with the vaccine from Biontech / Pfizer.
Most of those willing to vaccinate came from the district, said Kantzeloglou.
The average age was in the late twenties.
The aim of the offer was to reach younger age groups in particular, so that they too could have a “turn” and “life can move forward”.
The large amount of positive feedback motivated everyone to continue the campaign.
Vaccineers: "Very happy to be vaccinated now"
I am completely satisfied and just very happy to have been vaccinated ”, said Gloria Ederer, for example.
“You just have to take advantage of such a great vaccination offer.
The vaccination is not just about protecting yourself, but also protecting others, ”emphasized the 25-year-old Isener.
Elisabeth Stettner came to the action from Schwindegg.
The 36-year-old said after the injection: “It fits - just super organized.
Vaccinate as much as possible, that's good for the entire corona situation, and you can do a little more again. "
Mayor Ullrich Gaigl also rated the new vaccination campaign as a “great thing”: “Everyone helps together.” The community made the Goldachhalle available free of charge.
There were “no long waiting times, everything is well organized”.
Gaigl thanked everyone involved for this.
In addition to the main organizers, a number of helpers also put a lot of commitment and free time into the action.
It was carried by the employees of the practice team, numerous other doctors and helpers.
The St. Wolfgang fire brigade was also there again with control services and technology.
Jens Krautscheid's Park Pharmacy in Dorfen provided the vaccine.
Nothing was stolen from anyone, the pharmacist assured our newspaper when asked.
The acquisition of the vaccine doses was said to have gone through a "regular vaccine order".
