TRIBUNE - While the word "feminicide", entered in the dictionary, is more and more used by politicians and the media, the philosopher explains why she refuses to use this term resulting from the feminist vulgate to designate the murder of a woman by her spouse.

Bérénice Levet is the author of the “Imaginary Museum of Hannah Arendt” (Stock, 2011), of “The Theory of Gender or the Dreamed World of Angels”, prefaced by Michel Onfray (Pocket Book, 2016), of “Crépuscule progressive idols ”(Stock, 2017) and“ Let's free ourselves from feminism! ”

(Editions de l'Observatoire, 2018).

Things have definitely been rushing lately.

It is now understood that a man who kills his wife, ex-wife, spouse or ex-spouse commits "feminicide".

And, a sign of the times, seven years after the Le Robert dictionary, the 2022 edition of Larousse inducts this term forged in the arsenal of feminist activism.

There is nothing neutral about the word.

It is steeped in ideology and carries with it an interpretation of reality.

To adopt it is to ratify a certain story, a certain intrigue.

I am fully aware of the atmosphere in which we are immersed.

To question the word would be to downplay the thing.

The fallacy is obvious, and crude.
