The role of culture and the tasks required of it in the post-presidential elections Themes included in the symposium held by the Arab Writers Union at its headquarters in Damascus today, with the participation of Syrian and Lebanese intellectuals.

The Rapporteur of the Research and Studies Association of the Writers Union, Dr. Akram Shaleh, who moderated the symposium, saw that the next stage is to strive to achieve the aspirations of a people who resisted and triumphed over plans in light of the high turnout at polling stations.

In turn, the former candidate for the presidential elections, Lawyer Mahmoud Marei, drew attention to the vigor shown by the Syrians during the maturity stage, which must continue with cohesion, love and social and cultural interaction to build everything we lost during the war, and this is what we saw its launch in the past days.

The head of the Lebanese Arab Socialist Party, Dr. Abdullah Ali Kabbara, said in his axis: “The Lebanese were very happy with the massive participation of the Syrian people in the presidential election, and this optimism motivates us all to complete the achievements in Syria, especially in lifting the unjust siege on it and moving to the stage of the success of future projects.”

As for Dr. Ibrahim Zaarour, head of the Damascus branch of the Writers Union, he reviewed in his axis the conspiracies that have affected Syria throughout history since the Sykes-Picot agreement and then robbed the Alexandretta Brigade to the present time, when the ambitions of the Turkish regime and the Zionist occupation entity met with the Muslim Brotherhood, stressing that the cohesion of the Syrians with their various components was defeated This wave of conspiracy and the intellectuals must strengthen this spirit to complete the victory.

International Relations Adviser at the Iranian Embassy in Damascus, Mohammad Reza Hajian, considered that what Syria and its people offered deserves respect and appreciation, because all the conspiracies and sacrifices that occurred did not discourage the people from achieving their choices during the elections, so there is no fear that a people like him will complete the victory march after that.

The head of the Writers Union, Dr. Muhammad Al-Hourani, confirmed that the positions of the intellectuals and writers were in the face of the conspiracy from its inception and carried the burden of the intellectual confrontation until the stage of the presidential elections. from all Arab lands.
