Biden stood next to the queen in the sun, wearing his aviator sunglasses, before inspecting the troops in the ring at Windsor Castle, which was last seen on television during the funeral of her husband, the prince. Philip, who died at the age of 99 in April.

The president also reiterated his commitment to donate half a million vaccines to other countries and urged them to compete with China.

After having tea with the queen on Sunday, Biden will travel to Brussels to attend a NATO summit, before heading to Switzerland on Wednesday to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
