A 45-year-old Audi driver who was clearly intoxicated caused an accident at Traubing on Saturday evening.
He overlooked a team that had the right of way, which in turn was thrown at a Renault.
The spicy thing: Apparently he tried to give his wife the seat behind the wheel before the police arrived.

- A 45-year-old man and his wife drove along the connecting road between Garatshausen and Traubing in his Audi at around 8:25 p.m. and then turned left onto the B2 in the direction of Weilheim. Meanwhile, a Fiat driver drove on the B2 in the direction of Starnberg with his team. The Audi driver obviously overlooked the privileged Fiat and trailer when turning, so that there was a collision. As a result, the team was thrown into the opposite lane, so that there was a second collision with an oncoming Renault, according to the police report.
Immediately after the accident, several witnesses observed how the Audi driver and his wife swapped places in the vehicle. The reason for this became clear after a breath alcohol test was carried out: the 45-year-old was no longer fit to drive with about 0.7 per mille. He had to accompany the officers to the hospital for a blood sample.
Overall, those involved in the accident got off lightly.
The occupants of the Audi and the driver of the Fiat suffered only bruises and slight abrasions.
The lady who drove the Renault was in shock.
The Fiat driver was driven to the Tutzing hospital for further investigation of his injuries.
The Audi and the Fiat had to be towed.
The total damage to property is around 18,000 euros.
The 45-year-old will have to answer criminally for negligent bodily harm and the danger to road traffic.
