China calls on the United States to lift all sanctions on Iran

Chinese envoy to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna, Wang Chun, called on the United States to lift all US sanctions on Iran before the latter returns to compliance with the nuclear deal.

Negotiations between the delegations of Iran and the Four Plus One Group, which includes France, Britain, Germany, Russia and China, began on April 2, in the presence of an American delegation without directly participating in the negotiations aimed at returning Washington to the agreement and lifting its sanctions on Iran as a prelude to the latter's return to its obligations under it .

Yesterday, after the last meeting of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) joint committee on reviving the agreement, Wang was quoted by Xinhua as saying that the talks have entered their 11th week and are now in their final stages.

He added that Iran's concerns on this issue are legitimate and reasonable, and Washington should first lift its sanctions on Tehran so that the latter returns to full compliance with the nuclear deal.

He added that the arms embargo imposed by the United States on Iran should also be completely lifted.

Yesterday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed during the United Nations-sponsored World Conference on Nuclear Disarmament that the unilateral and arrogant US measures were the reasons behind the thorny issues regarding the implementation of the nuclear agreement with Iran, calling on Washington to change its current position on Tehran.
