With the Lise-Meitner-Gymnasium, the municipality has agreed on a time slot from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for the use of the outdoor swimming pool as part of physical education and also made this offer to both primary schools. The father of a high school graduate is very upset about it and has sent a peppered e-mail to the town hall and the media. The time frame up to 12 o'clock is "like a rejection" and makes him "speechless". He did find a few words after all: He did not know that the outdoor swimming pool “was overrun by crowds from exactly 12 noon”. At the expense of the pandemic, the community “lacks creativity and flexibility” at the expense of students.
When asked by Münchner Merkur, city hall spokesman Simon Hötzl rejects the allegations - and at the same time holds out the prospect of a compromise.
"26,000 people from Unterhaching are waiting for the outdoor pool, but only 1,000 are allowed in because of the infection protection regulations - we cannot tell people that it is not possible now, the schools are in," says Hötzl.
Three classes plus teachers are allowed into the bathroom in the mornings.
Until 12 noon, "because families with small children will come by then".
In addition, it takes “time until the students have left the outdoor pool in an orderly manner”.

But, according to Hötzl: Depending on the booking and weather conditions, this regulation will be "handled flexibly". If on less hot days it can be foreseen that the outdoor swimming pool will not be fully utilized from 12 noon, the time window for school sports can be "expanded at short notice". In return, there is “a direct line to the school management”, Hötzl sees this as a “practical compromise”. Hötzl would like to put into perspective the argument of the father from Unterhaching that the students were “affected by the most severe restrictions” after months without face-to-face lessons and sports facilities in clubs: “Even normal families with small children are highly stressed. We won't leave them outside. ”If they have to be denied entry despite the day tickets booked online,“ further trouble is inevitable ”. It is important to the community:All three Unterhaching schools (not just the grammar school) should be able to practice school sports in the outdoor pool, “despite the limitation to 1000 day visitors”. On nice weather days, however, this offer only works until 12 noon.
