The Directorate of Rural Development in the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, in cooperation with the Directorate of Agriculture of Quneitra, has finished distributing 800 agricultural grants to 800 beneficiary families in the countryside of Quneitra within the third phase of the government support project for family farming.
The Director of Agriculture in Quneitra, Ahmed Deeb, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the grant includes a drip irrigation network of an area of 400 square meters with summer and winter seeds within the plan of the Ministry of Agriculture to support small family projects and livelihoods to achieve sustainable development, indicating that the grant included the poorest families, families of martyrs and special cases. In the towns of Sweis, Al-Hiran, Sidon, Brega, Nabe' Al-Sakhr, Jabba and Taranga.
Theeb pointed out that the total grants distributed within the two phases amounted to 1,500 grants in the first and 1,000 grants in the second, pointing out that the beneficiary families were selected in cooperation with the Rural Women Department, extension units and civil society.
