- A drunk man from Holzkirchen (20) caused a serious accident in the night from Friday to Saturday (June 11th / 12th) not far from Kolbing (Dietramszell municipality).
As the responsible police station in Geretsried reports, his fully occupied VW Polo crashed into a tree.
The force of the impact was so great that the engine was torn from the car. Those involved apparently survived the accident without serious injuries. The driver himself and the three other inmates - two young women from Sauerlach (18 and 19 years old) and a 19-year-old housekeeper - suffered light to moderate injuries according to a press report by the Holzkirchen police and were taken to nearby hospitals by the rescue service.
According to the first findings of the police, the 20-year-old driver had not only drank too much alcohol in the hours before the accident, but was also traveling far too fast on the municipal road between Berg and Fraßhausen.
At around 1:35 a.m., the man from Holzkirchen lost control of the car, which then crashed into a tree.
From there, the Polo flung back onto the opposite side of the street.
According to the police, an alcohol test on the driver showed over 1.1 per mille.
A blood sample was taken.
The Holzkirchner is now expecting a complaint for endangering road traffic and negligent physical injury.
He will have to surrender his driver's license.
Three ambulances, the emergency doctor and the volunteer fire brigades from Endlhausen and Baiernrain with around 30 emergency services were on duty at night to care for the injured and to clear the scene of the accident.
The small car, an older model, is only worth scrapping, it had to be towed away.
The police estimate the total loss at around 1000 euros.
