(Croatia coach, beaten 1-0 by England for the first match of Group D of the Euro, in a press conference): “Congratulations to England but also congratulations to my players who made their best. We knew we would have to face a lot of pressing and we resisted quite a bit, we almost managed to take control of the match but not enough, especially on the offensive side. Afterwards, we conceded a goal after a mistake on our part which made me angry. That was exactly what we shouldn't do in defense, because you know that's the kind of space Sterling and the others like to exploit. But we keep a lot of optimism, we have the right to remain optimistic to try to do what is our objective:qualify for the next round ”.
