The Group of Seven (G7) summit ends on June 13.

In the communiqué that day, the G7 leaders called on China to respect the human rights of the people in Xinjiang and allow Hong Kong to implement a high degree of autonomy.

The G7 agreed to increase their financial contributions in terms of climate in order to fulfill their 2009 commitments and mobilize US$100 billion a year to help poorer countries reduce carbon emissions and cope with global warming.

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi pointed out that the G7 must be frank about what they disagree with China's approach.

However, he said that the G7 is not taking a particularly tough attitude towards China, and that they need to cooperate.

Developed countries promised in 2009 that they would jointly contribute US$100 billion a year to help poorer countries cope with climate change before 2020, but they have not yet fulfilled their promises.

G7 agreed to upgrade technology and speed up the transition from coal use.

The G7 reiterated in the communiqué that they support Japan in hosting the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games in a safe and reliable manner, as a symbol of global solidarity to overcome the novel coronavirus pneumonia (COVID-19).

They demand action on Russian cybercrime and chemical weapons.

The leaders of the participating countries also pledged to continue to support the economy when necessary.
