The FEHD stated that in the past three days it has conducted joint operations with the police to inspect 43 food and beverage premises, including bars/pubs. The department also inspected 1,657 food and beverage premises, including bars/pubs and 292 other premises. A total of seven persons suspected of violating the " Prevention and Control of Diseases (Requirements and Instructions) (Business and Premises) Regulations (Chapter 599F) required the person in charge of the catering business to initiate prosecution procedures. Five of them involved catering premises (one category B and two categories C Class B and two cases were classified as Class D) and dine-in was still provided after the specified time period. The remaining two cases involved the requirement that more than four people sit at the same table and wear masks in Class B catering premises.

Since 7 food and beverage premises have not adopted relevant regulations or restrictions, they will stop dine-in dinners on the day after they are found to have violated the rules, that is, they will stop selling or supplying food for eating in the store from 6 pm to 4:59 am the next day. No more than two people should be allowed to sit at the same table for the food or drink to be consumed, for a period of three days (one case) and seven days (six cases).

In addition, the FEHD also issued a total of 27 fixed penalty notices to persons suspected of violating the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition of Group Gathering) Ordinance (Chapter 599G) in restaurants, each with a fine of $5,000.

In joint operations, the police also took enforcement actions, including issuing fixed penalty notices.

If the person in charge of the catering business or the manager of the listed premises violates the Regulations, he can be prosecuted. Once convicted, he can be fined up to 50,000 yuan and imprisoned for six months.

In addition, customers who violate the upper limit of the number of people sitting at the same table in the catering premises may be fined 5,000 yuan due to Chapter 599G; customers who eat or eat at non-table areas or do not wear masks may violate the "Prevention And Control of Diseases (Wearing Masks) Regulations (Chapter 599I) was fined a fixed fine of $5,000.
