The Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus arrested a woman who was promoting fake money in Damascus and its countryside.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that SANA received a copy of it that through follow-up and monitoring, and in the context of prosecuting people dealing in other than the Syrian pound, and after receiving information to the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus about a woman selling and promoting counterfeit currency, the Anti-Narcotics Branch arrested a woman who was promoting a fake amount of money. She was searched and found in her possession of 1,600 counterfeit $100 bills.
The ministry indicated in its statement that during the investigation with her, she admitted that she possessed the counterfeit money and that she had purchased it from a hidden person with the aim of promoting it and sharing the profits between them, indicating that investigations are still ongoing and research is underway for the aforementioned suspect, and the arrestee will be presented to the competent judiciary.
