Diego Schwartzman left his privileged place in the top ten of the ATP rankings on Monday after belonging to that select lot for 32 consecutive weeks. Novak Djokovic increases the distances and will be number one for a long time. Stefanos Tsitsipas, his loser in the Roland Garros final, is already top four. And, in other bad news for the Argentines, Juan Martín Del Potro collapsed since he reached two years without activity.

Schwartzman dropped from tenth place, now occupied by

the Spanish Roberto Bautista Agut, at the eleventh after getting eliminated in the quarterfinals of the second Grand Slam of the season against Spanish Rafael Nadal.

The porteño, who also completed a very good performance in Paris, had entered the top ten in the rankings on October 12 of last year when he jumped from twelfth to eighth place.

Djokovic, new champion at the French Open, consolidated his leadership.

After winning the nineteenth Grand Slam of his career, the Serbian has almost 2,000 income over the Russian Daniil Medvedev, second in the ranking.

For his part, Nadal, eliminated in the semifinals by the Balkan and who was defending the title won in 2020, is already almost 3,500 points from the top.

Who made a jump among the top ten was the Greek Tsitsipas, who reached the best ranking of his career by placing himself in the fourth step that until last week was occupied by the Austrian Dominic Thiem.

It's one of two changes to the top ten other than Schwartzman's departure.

Juan Martín Del Potro, meanwhile, lost 328 positions and fell to 593rd in the world rankings from his prolonged inactivity.

The Tandilense is in full recovery from a new operation on his right knee - the last one was on March 23 - and last week he returned to training in Buenos Aires, although still with a splint on his leg.

Stepping on the same courts being different, "wrote the Tandilense next to a video in which he is seen, racket in hand, hitting him with that drive that is the envy of more than one on the circuit and also practicing his serve on hard courts of the Argentinian Tennis Club.

Delpo - who has not played since June 2019, when after beating Canadian Denis Shapovalov in Queen's debut, he got off before their second-round duel - dreams of getting to play the Tokyo Olympics, which will be launched on July 23th.
