The temperatures are rising, the corona numbers are lower than a few weeks ago.

The lakes in the district beckon.

The really good news: the water quality is very good, as measurements show.

District

- According to the specifications of the Bavarian Bathing Water Ordinance, corresponding leisure activities must be monitored at least once a month.

The Ebersberg health department takes water samples every two weeks at two points per bathing lake.

The samples are sent to the State Office for Health and Food Safety for analysis.

In addition, temperature and depth of view are determined.

The first measurements this year were already at the beginning of May.

Since then it has been said: No complaints.

The most recent measurement with the same result was on June 8th.

So nothing stands in the way of bathing pleasure.

These lakes are sampled

The Klostersee in Ebersberg, the Maximiliansee in Steinhöring, the Steinsee near Moosach, the Kastensee near Glonn, the natural baths Wiesmühle in Glonn, the bathing pond at the sports park in Markt Schwaben and the Bergfeldsee in Poing are sampled in the Ebersberg district.

These are declared as EU bathing waters.

There are clear rules.

If a set limit value is exceeded for the parameter “Escherichia coli” and for the parameter “Intestinal enterococci” in these lakes, a second sampling is carried out immediately, according to the District Office on request.

If values are found that are above the limit for at least one of the parameters, the body of water is considered "not suitable for bathing".

However, the current data is well below the limit values.

If this is not the case, i.e. the limit values are exceeded, further steps would be taken.

First of all, another sampling would be carried out at several points on the lake and a site inspection would be carried out in a timely manner.

If the values are confirmed, according to the district office, depending on the result, action will be taken to create remedial measures or, in extreme cases, to close the bathing lake.

Warning is given in several stages, with signs by the lake or information on the Internet.

The operators of the bathing lakes will be informed.

If necessary, they must provide signage and a barrier.

Outdoor and indoor swimming pools are also monitored

The outdoor and indoor pools are also monitored by the health department. The operator is required to check the pool water regularly. Furthermore, water samples are also arranged in the processing technology in order to be able to discover a problem at an early stage. Another point is the sampling of the shower water. The operator has the water samples examined by an accredited laboratory and presents the findings to the health department.
