Citizens can now have digital vaccination records issued.

Pharmacist Ingrid Kaiser is happy to take on the task, only one thing worries her.

Freising

- Monday, June 14th, 8.30 a.m., a moving moment.

The first digital vaccination certificate is issued in the Engel pharmacy in Freising.

The happy owner is the boss herself. Ingrid Kaiser, pharmacy spokeswoman for the Freising district, proudly holds the certificate with the QR code in her hands.

“It's not that I urgently need the digital vaccination certificate now,” she says.

"But it was a matter of honor for me."

She was by far not the only one who used the first day on which it was possible to create a digital vaccination record.

“We have a real big day of the fight.

The rush was already huge in the morning ”, reports Ingrid Kaiser and is quite surprised.

"I didn't think it would be so good on the first day."

In the late morning, her colleagues put up parasols in front of the shop.

No queues have formed yet, but that could still come.

"And then my customers should also have some shade."

Issuance of the digital vaccination card takes place in a short time

The good news: The issuing of a digital vaccination certificate is a matter of a few minutes.

It is important to have the right documents with you: the yellow vaccination certificate and ID card.

You also need your first and last name, date of birth, the vaccine that was used for the second injection and the date of the second vaccination, as reported by Claudia Fuchs from Engel-Apotheke.

She is responsible for data acquisition.

"We insert this information into a computer program that the German Pharmacists' Association made available to us," she reports.

The pharmacist makes sure that there is no counterfeit

The data will be forwarded to the Robert Koch Institute and the next moment the certificate will appear on the screen.

"We'll print that out," explains Fuchs.

“The customer can then scan the code with their mobile phone.” To do this, they need the Corona warning app or the CovPass app.

“The responsibility we bear is great,” says Ingrid Kaiser. “After all, we don't want to issue a digital vaccination certificate based on a forgery.” That's why she takes a close look at the yellow vaccination certificates she brought with her. If these are already well filled, this is a sign that it is not a fake. "But we also look carefully at which vaccination center or which doctor signed the corona vaccination." She also asks for your understanding. A breach of the duty of care could result in severe fines or even imprisonment for pharmacists.

Nevertheless: Groaning about the next additional work in the pandemic is out of the question for Ingrid Kaiser.

“We pharmacists can consider ourselves lucky that we are among those who didn't have to close.

We are really happy to make this contribution to society. "

The digital vaccination certificate is happily received with a whistle

The joy of the issuance of the digital vaccination pass can be seen in the people of Freising on this beautiful summer day.

With a big grin, the customers put on their masks in front of the entrance to the pharmacy, two of them come out whistling.

For Willi Leiß, the digital vaccination certificate arrives just in time.

“I'm going on vacation to Croatia in two days,” he reports happily.

"It is the first time since the Corona outbreak that I have come back abroad.

I think it's great that it's possible again. "

Ewald Tratzmüller is also pleased that he now has the digital vaccination certificate in his hands.

He is a flight attendant, has had difficult times professionally due to Corona and, above all, thinks the certification is great.

“If in doubt, I always have to ask passengers for their vaccination card when boarding the plane.

This is much easier and faster with the digital passport. "
