Tehran-Sana
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh stressed that the United States of America is the one who violated the nuclear agreement and must provide guarantees not to return to the policies of former US President Donald Trump, pointing out that Resolution "2231" will not limit Iran's missile power.
The UN Security Council unanimously adopted in 2015 by resolution 2231 the comprehensive plan of action reached by the signatories to the nuclear agreement in July of the same year, but the previous US administration announced on May 8, 2018, Washington’s withdrawal from the agreement and the reinstatement of sanctions against Tehran In defiance of the will of the international community and in violation of international resolutions.
Khatibzadeh made it clear in his weekly press conference today that the negotiations in Vienna are not the last and the media speculations are not correct. He said, "What is happening in Vienna is that there is a joint committee to restore America to its commitments, and we have not yet reached a dead end."
The work of the sixth round of negotiations to revive the nuclear agreement between Iran and the 4+1 group, which falls within the framework of the meetings of the Joint Committee of the nuclear agreement aimed at bringing the United States back to it and ensuring its full and effective implementation, began in the Austrian capital Vienna last Saturday.
