Traders who normally sell their goods in markets are going through difficult times.

That's why two business women in Bad Tölz are now treading creative paths.

Bad Tölz

- Markets have been allowed again in Bavaria for a week - and dealers can gradually note the first dates again. Nevertheless: for several months they could not set up their stands anywhere. Therefore, creative ways are still needed so that you can present your goods and bring them to the customer. That's why Marika von Daak from Egling and Margreth Bilger from the Ebersberg district have now opened a pop-up store at Tölzer Nockhergasse 7.

Marika von Daak already has experience at the location.

As reported, she had opened a temporary shop in the run-up to Christmas together with the Jachenau businesswoman Heidi Wagner - until the lockdown came shortly before Christmas.

Now the Eglingen owner of the “Herzfrohlocken” brand is starting with a new partner and a seasonally adapted range.

In the pop-up store there is country house fashion, Mediterranean dresses and homemade straw hats

"For me, colors are always very important," she says. You can see that not only in their self-made ceramics made of clay and porcelain. It also offers country house fashion and scarves - as well as light Mediterranean dresses in summer. Von Daak relies on natural materials, small labels, handmade and individual designers. “For example, I just discovered a lone fighter from Italy who is also a yoga teacher,” she says. "And a designer from Cannes."

Customers can find a matching summer hat in the same shop at Margreth Bilger under the name "Hut Art".

"I come from the Allgäu, there are a lot of hat factories," she says.

In one of them she learned the trade of milliner - “and discovered how creative it is, for me it was a direct hit,” she reports.

Usually at markets - and now in the Tölz pop-up store - she sells hats and straw hats that she has sewn herself.

The range in the pop-up store in Bad Tölz is to be even more diverse

What is special: “I don't buy hat blanks and just decorate them, but sew the entire hat myself from narrow straw braids.” So you can vary the material, for example using paper or seaweed.

Whether you want to wear the hat to gardening or to a garden party: the artisan has the right thing ready.

And for stubborn heads, she offers custom-made products.

In addition, Bilger sells greeting cards with self-designed watercolors and calligraphic sayings.

The pop-up store is open until the end of August.

During this time, according to Marika von Daak, more dealers are likely to join them, selling felt items and artistic garden accessories for example.

In addition, von Daak and Bilger hope to be able to exhibit again at one or the other market in the coming weeks.
