Republican Front: LREM has a headache

The republican front would be dead.

It should be preferred, during the next regional, technical alliances with list mergers.

The idea is moving in Macronie, carried for example by Stéphane Séjourné, political advisor to the president or Gabriel Attal, government spokesman.

The Republican front, the real one, as in 2015, is a sacrifice because a list that withdraws completely disappears: no elected for six years!

Going for mergers would have the advantage of saving a few seats, but the disadvantage of giving the impression that we are trading when the subject is to prevent the extreme right from gaining power.

Where a sacrificial withdrawal can help the best-placed list win against the RN, the president will of course need his party to set an example. It is a question of principle on the one hand, and of political coherence on the other. If the walkers give, in June 2021, the feeling of nitpicking, then it will be very difficult (impossible?) To explain in April 2022 that the Macron vote is the only one useful to prevent the arrival of Marine Le Pen at the Élysée .
